Who hasn't been waiting for this? It's interesting that the gold pattern (applique? embroidery?) on The Love God's smoking jacket tastefully articulates his genitals (maybe that's where the question mark in the title comes in handy?). I wonder if the artist was attempting a Bogartesque or Sinatraesque Knotts? Only they know for sure.

Warner's knocked this one out of the park, too bad it's a terrible movie.

wow that really is a good cover... I give them a month before they change it to a gradient pic of Swank squinting with "THE REAPING" appearing below her mug in shakey font.SncDthMnky wrote:Warner's knocked this one out of the park, too bad it's a terrible movie.

I don't think I'd like it nearly as much if It wasn't AnnaSophia Robb on the cover. To go from Disney to something that even looks this dark is a leap surpassed only by Anne Hathaway's jump from Princess Diaries 2 to Havoc.
It wouldn't surprise me, but with most HD-DVDs from warner not containing any quotes at all (I will eat my R2 Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence slipcover if the Standard DVD doesn't get quotes added to it), if that cover makes it to shelves I'll buy it.domino harvey wrote:wow that really is a good cover... But don't you see? The new cover (and Fox anti-piracy logos) make this new edition so much more complete compared to the Sony release. All sarcasm aside, the cover really is a winner.zombeaner wrote:That is mighty impressive. Although I do feel a bit duped by the fact that they just released special editions a year or maybe two ago.

One of my favorite covers which I see regularly is the MK2 Blind Chance (Le Hasard in French).
A drawing of a man and a pair of dice. One is his head and the other is a box he's carrying, as he trudges along burdened. The background is a soft plum color. A very lovely interpretation of the film and wonderfully realized.
Only trouble is that this is virtually nowhere, except at my local dvd shops. Even the MK2 website displays a different cover.
Not sure of anyone has seen this or can find it anywhere. I'm guessing that this might have been some of the original poster art. Or maybe not. Life is so unpredictable.

I don't know where else to post this, so it goes here, but for how terrible I'm sure this movie will be, this is a fantastic theatrical poster:

Wow, how can they expect to one-up that after the seventh film is released? Looks like they blew their load a film too soon, like Warner did two films too soon here.

If they have any foresight at all, there are slots in that cheap-ass tray for the last two films (they're still dividing the last book in two, right?)mfunk9786 wrote:Wow, how can they expect to one-up that after the seventh film is released? That set seems to have been targeted at an extremely select audience: ultra rich, Blu-Ray owning fans of Harry Potter who also have a passion for collecting Lilliput Lane-esque minatures!
