Ha I didn’t even notice that someone from New Yorker said almost the same thing I did about the Rouch short in their pull quote

I'll give a recommendation for With Love and a Major Organ, especially to fans of Michel Gondry.

I’m assuming Shanghai Triad will look identical to Film Movement’s

Shanghai Triad is from Film Movement, so this is probably just adding a slipcover. The film was also part of Imprint's Zhang Yimou/Gong Li set

so far the Film Movement partnership has been a total waste. at least Icarus is releasing something of value in their debut, though I don't like this trend of every US label that isn't Criterion/Kino/Shout becoming part of Vinegar Syndrome. is Flicker Alley going to join up next? Arbelos not long after? I genuinely hope not

some interesting stuff here as usual but I don't feel super rushed to get any of it. what I've learned is everything under Vinegar Syndrome's umbrella will sell out super quick on their site, but you can usually grab a copy from one of the import stores for months after the fact

Shudder's The Sadness slipcase is already sold out.

Mister Lonely and Roadill are also on the verge of selling out

Won't they just get restocked though, minus the slips?

I believe you can purchase the slipless titles of any of these right now if you’d like (just select them from the drop down)

The Rouch segment in the film is the greatest short film ever made. If anyone needs needling to add it up their order (it’s the only thing I ordered - $39 with shipping, Jesus)

Icarus means we could get some Marker and more Rouch on Blu soon
The Chabrol and Rohmer shorts are not nothing, in addition.

Yeah I know, I meant that they'll restock and show up on retail sites like DD et al. even after "selling out." I'm not trying to buy any more right now direct, but want the opportunity down the line

There is probably no rush to order any of these titles if all you want is the standard edition

Does the standard edition only differ in slipcover? What about booklets (if any)?

Booklets are only limited edition exclusive if they are specifically accommodated by the packaging.

The Sadness has about 100 copies left, and Mister Lonely is getting lower and lower on standard (non-slip) copies. At least you might be waiting a while for represses in some cases as some of these will be gone in the next day or two.

I almost blind-bought The Sadness, but it’s on Hoopla for free and Lettrboxed reviews are all over the place

The Sadness is god awful so I wouldn't feel any FOMO about it.

Hopefully the Icarus relationship will extend to the dGenerate catalog. A lot of it consists of pre-HD digital films that aren't exactly crying out for Blu-ray releases, but I'd love to see BD editions of some of their Wang Bing and Pema Tseden titles, Winter Vacation, etc. etc.

Same here. I really love Tseden’s work
